UK ETA Online Application

Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

Effective February 25, 2026

  • All U.S. citizens transiting the UK or traveling to the UK for tourism, family visits, business meetings, conferences, or short-term study for 6 months or less will require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) prior to travel.  If you do not have evidence of an approved ETA before travelling, you may be denied boarding by your airline or not allowed entry into the UK. The UK Visa Portal website is here.
  • All UK or Irish citizens, regardless of dual citizenship, must have a valid UK or Irish passport or certificate of entitlement  when travelling to the UK. If you are a UK or Irish citizen, you cannot receive an ETA. You may be denied boarding on your transport to the UK without a valid UK passport. Please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website  for additional information.
